Exhibitions

Decker doesn't just lend materials on art. We show it, too.

Decker Library hosts exhibitions that typically rotate on a monthly basis. Decker staff curate exhibitions of items in our special collections and archives as well as items available for circulation. MICA students, staff, and faculty can submit a proposal to have their work exhibited in the library or on our online exhibition platform. Questions? Contact Allison Fischbach at afischbach@mica.edu.

ACCUMULATION

We all have the tendency to gather things - photographs, books, slips of paper, memories, regrets - these things form unwitting collections. This tendency can lead to constructive ends - brick-by-brick building towers, homes, streets - or can be entirely without purpose. Accumulation has many forms, and many ends, from a dragon guarding its hoard, to the library itself, stocking knowledge to share. This show reflects the myriad ways we accumulate in our lives and the ends it can reach.

Accumulation is the first Decker Library Community Art Show, including works from MICA undergrad and graduate students, faculty, and staff.
