Special interest (S.I.) communities support students by providing them a living environment where everyone shares a common interest. With a programming model centered around the ideals and goals of the community, residents will build strong bonds with each other as they explore these interests. The residence life staff will offer programming opportunities that focus on the theme of their specific community to further enhance the residential and learning experience.

Housing

The Community Related Experiences in Art Through Engagement (CREATE) will be housed in the Gateway and will be comprised of approximately 25 students. Students who are selected for the program will be guaranteed housing and will be afforded the opportunity to pull in one apartment mate or roommate who is also selected for the program. Both students should apply separately for consideration. Predetermined apartment mate or roommate is not a requirement. Application Process

To be considered for a S.I. community please complete the housing application online in conjunction with completing the S.I. application for CREATE . The applications can be found at the Founders Green, Meyerhoff and Gateway front desks or by downloading the application from our website. Our review committee will hand select the students we believe will gain the most from the experience as well as offer new perspectives to the communities. We encourage anyone that is willing to actively participate, take ownership of the community and be a good ambassador of our S.I. communities to apply.
