Decker Library welcomes you to research art and design. We are open to the MICA community and the public for art and design research. Current MICA students, staff, and faculty: Your MICA ID card is your library card!
Access for MICA Community
Current MICA community members have offsite access to our article and media databases and electronic resources, such as ebooks.
Using Our Space: Guidelines
- Be Kind and Be Aware: We are committed to an atmosphere conducive to creative exploration, research, and study. Disruptive behavior is prohibited. To report disruptive activity, contact the Access Services desk or call 410-225-2272.
- Food and Drinks: Snack foods and drinks in covered containers are permitted. Examples include candy, bagels, dried fruit, granola bars, cold sandwiches, and salads.
- Cellphones and Conversations:
- 1st floor: Talk all you want! 🦜
- Lower level: Silence cell phones and converse in a low voice. 🤐
- Clean Hands When Using Library Materials: Please handle library books with clean hands and place them on clean surfaces.
Technology and Services
- Computers and Wireless Access: Library users may use public computers and public wifi. Outlets are available for personal devices.
- Print, and Scan: Printing and scanning are available to the MICA community. Printing is not available to the public. See our printing information page for more details.
Collection Management
- Collecting Policies for New Acquisitions: New acquisitions are determined by the Liaison Librarians and are prioritized based on various criteria. See our wiki for our full Collection Development Policy.
- Deselection: Items may be withdrawn periodically to keep the collection relevant and useful.
Donations
We accept donations for Special Collections. Please complete our Donation Form and have an itemized list ready.
Emergencies, Closures, and Delays
Decker Library follows MICA's announcements for closures or delays. Notices will be posted on our website for any service interruptions.
