July 19, 2020 - Zoom will require you to have a passcode or waiting room enabled for all meetings.
What you should know:
- Zoom is changing their terminology, "meeting passwords" are now referred to as "meeting passcodes".
- If you do not have the passcodes or waiting room features enabled by July 19th, Zoom will enable the Waiting Room feature for all of your meetings.
- If you already have either of these features enabled, nothing will change for your meeting settings.
- If you choose to add the passcode feature to your meetings, you will need to resend the calendar invites so the new passcode is included in the meeting description. If Waiting Room is already enabled there is nothing to change with upcoming meetings.
What are Waiting Rooms?
- This feature allows the host to control when participants join meetings by placing them in a Waiting Room prior to joining the session. Its recommended that you review your Waiting Room settings to adjust who will and will not be placed in the meeting prior to the meeting (Host, co-hosts, anyone you would like to by-pass the waiting room).
