Versions of Cinnamon's thesis, which offers a critique of social design and a proposed framework for its practice, were published in Design and Culture issue 6.3, Developing Citizen Designers, and The Social Design Reader—all co-developed with Lauren Weinstein. Today she is a Minneapolis-based journalist covering lesser-told stories across Middle America. Cinnamon's work has been published in outlets like The Guardian, The Washington Post, National Geographic, the Atlantic's CityLab, New York magazine, U.S. News and World Report, Pacific Standard, and more.
