Stuart Clarke is the vice president for strategic initiatives at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. His career advancing environmental progress, social justice, and educational opportunity has included assignments as the executive director of the Town Creek Foundation, program officer at the Turner Foundation, development director at the Southern Partners Fund and assistant professor of political science at Williams College.
Stuart has a robust volunteer leadership CV, including service as a trustee with the Environmental Grantmakers Association, the Chesapeake Bay Trust, and the Maryland Philanthropy Network. He currently serves on the boards of Greenpeace, Earthjustice, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, and the Blue Mountain Center.
He received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania and did his graduate work at Yale University.
