From: Sammy Hoi
Subject: VP for Finance & Business Services Finalists

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

On behalf of the Vice President for Finance & Business Services (VPFBS) Search Committee, I am pleased to share that we have selected three finalists to present to the MICA campus community next week.

All finalists expect our confidentiality in this search process. Therefore, please honor their confidentiality request with your utmost care. Please refrain from sharing their names (through social media and other means), calling contacts to inquire about them, or otherwise discussing their candidacy beyond the MICA campus community.

  • Finalist #1 will interact with the campus community on Tuesday, June 22
  • Finalist #2 will interact with the campus community on Wednesday, June 23
  • Finalist #3 will interact with the campus community on Thursday, June 24

Campus members can learn about and/or interact with the finalists, as follows:

  • Materials review: The afternoon before each finalist’s campus interaction day around 4 p.m. (EST), a campus email will be issued to share the website where the finalist’s materials can be viewed. The materials will stay available until 5 p.m. (EST) on Friday, June 25. Only MICA community members with MICA ID and portal passwords can access the materials.
  • Presentation video viewing: Each finalist is recording a 20-minute presentation to share their interest in and thinking about the MICA position. The recording will be posted as part of each finalist’s materials as outlined above, and can be viewed any time while posted.
  • Invitational hosted sessions with finalists: Search committee members are hosting constituency-specific meetings by invitation; invitation methodology is decided by the hosts in consultation with FEC, SEC, and SVA leaders. Relevant details, including Zoom links, are coming directly from these committee members to their affinity group invitees. Those invited to participate in a hosted session are asked to review the finalist materials ahead of the session.

An input survey (linked to the presentation video and available at the hosted sessions) will be used to collect community feedback. After the hosted sessions, the search committee hosts will also gather the group assessment. All feedback is anonymous and shared only with the search committee.

Please ask one of the VPFBS Search Committee members if you have questions:

If all goes according to plan, the new VPFBS will be identified in early July and will join MICA by Fall 2021 per our search schedule.

Thank your in advance for your participation in and contribution to this important search!

Sammy
