The July 15 Action Plan for a DEIG-Driven and Safe MICA has promised a strengthened Human Resources (HR) at MICA by Spring 2021.
As announced: “Human Resources, currently a part of Operation and Finance, will become an independent unit to report directly to the President by Spring 2021. This shift will position Human Resources as a more central function and help build its capacity as a core driver of institutional improvement and change. In light of the challenging fiscal year, this important reorganization will be accomplished in a budget-neutral manner.”
I am pleased to share that the work is progressing per plan. I hope to move HR under the Office of the President by the end of October while the full transition, including the search for a vice president, will take several months to be completed. I will share more details later this month when they are available and plan a community update on other actions promised in the July 15 campus memo by mid-October.
Today, I write to invite you to share your hopes and wishes for a reimagined HR at MICA.
