Statement
This series of works expresses my yearning for home, which is Taipei, Taiwan, as well as my obsession with pattern making. Inspired by animals and insects that remind me of home, I turn them into motifs that create the optical and spatial illusion of home. My process usually begins with a watercolor painting of each animal that I am inspired by and then repeating them in Photoshop. Moreover, I see them as giant wallpaper that surrounds a modern space that makes me feel comfortable and protected.
