In the dawn of a new, ecologically and biologically radical future, the wheels of industry have stopped - and humans must learn to survive once again -in a world where they are just as fallible as the next mammal in the food chain---blah, blah, blah, blah-blah ecological-horror mutant-earth fever-dream comic book featuring hyper-evolving-rampantly-mutating flora and fauna.
Scump Mag is the evolution of all work I’ve done before it, drawing inspiration from my passion for research, writing, horror movies, metal, and maximalism. Visually, Scump Mag paint and graphite to compliment the properties ink, and to enrich the linear progression of my comic with visual texture. The selective removal of gutters, and atypical compositions are meant to transgress and alter the line between “comics” and “fine art”. In its simplest form though, it’s a comic about gnarly creatures, big armor, and gore, with a healthy helping of ecological optimism.
