Statement
_The Light Upstairs_ is a middle grade chapter book exploring themes of loss, relationships, and spirituality.
The Luminary is angel living in the cosmos. After the unexpected death of their partner, they embark on a journey to meet other creatures and overcome their grief.
Each god in the sky is precious and unique, but they all prove to be difficult to connect with in one way or another. A god made of wax is beautiful but self absorbed, a god made of gold is overly concerned with gifts, and a god who collects bones cares not for who the treasures once belonged.
The Luminary must discover that self-worth cannot be found in others, it can only be found inside.
