Sally Lynn Maier

Sally Lynn Maier recently graduated from MICA's MFA program in Graphic Design. Her professional practice has been primarily designing for the arts, including several years at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design in Washington, DC and an internship at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA.

She strives to balance content and form and wrestles with her dual roles of service-provider and independent creative. She is interested in how design shapes and is shaped by social constructs, class, and ideology, which she explored through the lens of editorial design in her thesis project, Design Dissection: A Visual Analysis of the Economics of Magazine Design. Her next personal project will likely involve her ever-growing collection of clickbait ads. She loves living in Baltimore, browsing thrift stores, and taking long walks with her terrier mix, Abu.
