Nolen Strals likes to refer to himself as a commercial artist, because his professional work blurs the line between multiple disciplines.

He is co-founder of the design studio Post Typography, whose design and illustration clients include U.S. Green Building Council, The New York Times, and WIRED. He has curated or co-curated numerous exhibitions of art and design in Baltimore and elsewhere. A 2001 graduate of MICA's General Fine Arts program, Mr. Strals teaches courses in advanced typography and printmaking in the undergraduate and graduate Graphic Design programs.

Mr. Strals' work has been recognized several times by the Print and Communication Arts graphic design annuals. The Society of News Design, Baltimore City Paper, and others. In addition to his work, Mr. Strals has lectured at the Cooper Union, Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and Harvard University among others.
