Katie Larson holds a Ph.D. in Art History from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. At MICA she teaches courses on illustration history, critical theory, and European and American modernism. Her scholarship focuses on postwar art, particularly networks of exchange in Italy, the legacies of Fascism and Futurism, receptions of Surrealism, and the genesis and proliferation of multimedia artistic strategies in Europe. Katie's research has been supported by a Chuck Close Pre-Doctoral Rome Prize in Modern Italian Studies from the American Academy in Rome, and a Ph.D. Scholarship from the Gerda Henkel Stiftung.
