MICA Burlesque Troupe
The MICA Burlesque Troupe serves as an entertaining and inclusive safe space for MICA students to express their sexuality in a variety of ways. We strive to make everyone feel welcome and empowered to perform for our burlesque shows in the fall and spring.
MICA Dance Studio
MICA Dance Studio aims to create an open and safe dance community within MICA. We provide student-led classes and dance workshops taught by local dancers. Our goal is not only to create a space for MICA students to educate themselves about dance and dance
Haunted House Club
Haunted House Club is a student-run production that runs annually in October. Known for its large-scale, intricately detailed, immersive, and horrifying haunted house. Each year features a unique theme that is guaranteed to scare you half to death! After our main event is over, we begin to plan for the next year and plan field trips to other haunted houses or makeup workshops for others to learn about the horror and special effects industry. MICA Haunted House aims to provide an outlet for MICA's horror enthusiasts, by providing horror related events to the MICA community. Haunted House will focus on informational workshops surrounding the genre as well as campus-wide events.
Improv League
The Improv League is dedicated to teaching and performing improvisational comedy. A variety of ridiculous forms and methods will be explored in weekly practices and several performances throughout the school year.
MICAphones
The MICAphones are a casual, stress-free jazz band, in which students can learn how to improvise solos. The music difficulty levels will be a range from beginner to advanced depending on the abilities of the players. We will find/ create parts for almost any instrument. This group performs at open-mics and looks for opportunities to perform in the community. We are open to anyone who plays an instrument, no experience playing jazz is needed! Our goal is to learn, play music together, and have a fun time!
The Salon
The Salon is an avenue for artists and curators affiliated with the MICA community to present on unconventional topics of interest and give unique performances.
The Thespian Club
The Thespian Club, one of MICA's longest running clubs, is a group of actors, writers, designers and more. We are dedicated to exposing theater to the MICA community. The club presents a major theatrical performance in the fall as well as smaller, more intimate events in the spring including trips to local theatres. We are devoted to the study of the performing arts and gives MICA students the opportunity to perform, direct, and technically produce a play.
