Maryland Institute Queer Alliance

MIQA (Maryland Institute Queer Alliance) provides a variety of programming, support, education, and social activities for those identifying as queer, questioning, or as an ally. MIQA celebrates queer culture and strives to build community on campus, all while having lots of fun.

QTNB

QTNB is a wellness/interest group for trans students, staff & faculty. This is a safe space where transgender non-conforming people can socialize and partake in fun activities and build community.

Faculty and Staff Queer Alliance

Faculty and Staff Queer Alliance (FASQA) is comprised of MICA staff and faculty members that meet on a regular basis for event-planning, fundraising, networking, and socializing. We also serve in a mentor-capacity to the students and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community at MICA; having many collaborations with MIQA, the LGBT student organization for undergraduate students. Broad goals include outreach, awareness, advocacy, and LGBTQ scholarship.

FASQA meets on a monthly basis. If you're interested in joining us for the next meeting, email us at FASQA@mica.edu to join the listserve. You'll then get information about upcoming meetings, events, etc.

Transgender Resources

Maryland Institute College of Art is committed to its policy of providing equal opportunity regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, age, or disability. MICA strives to be a welcoming community and is continuing to create policies and guidelines to help students navigate their time spent here.

The Center for Identity and Inclusion has created a Transgender Student Resources Guide to support transgender students during their time at MICA.
