MICA is committed to its policy of providing equal opportunity regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, or veteran status (disabled, Vietnam-era, or otherwise).

Furthermore, the College does not tolerate any form of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment or sexual violence. This policy applies to all programs, facilities, and activities provided by Maryland Institute College of Art, including but not limited to admission, educational programs, and employment.

We have created this section of our website to highlight some of the many LGBTQIAP resources that we have on campus.

We also serve in a mentor-capacity to the students and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community at MICA; having many collaborations with MIQA, the LGBT student organization for undergraduate students. Broad goals include outreach, awareness, advocacy, and LGBTQ scholarship.

FASQA meets on a monthly basis. If you're interested in joining us for the next meeting, email us at FASQA@mica.edu to join the listserve. You'll then get information about upcoming meetings, events, etc.

Applications must be submitted to the Center for Identity and Inclusion (Meyerhoff 108) by November 27, 2018. Click here for the application. Questions? Contact the Center for Identity and Inclusion at 443-552-1659.

MICA Safe Zone Training

It is our hope that Safe Zone participants will be able to promote a more welcoming atmosphere for LGBTQIA members of the MICA community. Safe Zone covers a broad range of topics including the coming out process, LGBTQIA terminology, and trans issues. After completing both Safe Zone Training, participants will receive a placard to hang in their space (e.g. office, room, etc.)
