Many of our neighbors rent exclusively to MICA students due to their history of being fine tenants. If needed, we can help you review the lease before you sign it and our office maintains a list of apartments that students have had difficult experiences with which we encourage you to explore before making your decision.
Students who are moving off-campus should meet with Financial Aid to discuss their options. MICA does not finance off-campus apartments through Student Accounts, however, many students are able to arrange a portion of their financial aid directly and then apply it to off-campus housing. The Office of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing did an informal survey of students' off-campus living costs. These figures are an average of the population surveyed. We asked individual students what they paid for off-campus costs; remember that some of these students may live together as roommates, and their costs would be combined to pay for their apartment. Off-campus costs can definitely be less expensive than living on-campus. You need to carefully assess 'hidden costs' and convenience when deciding to live on or off campus.
