Sara Egorin-Hooper

Sara Egorin-Hooper has provided services for students with special needs in Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) for 35 years.

She is currently the Supervisor of The Alternate Maryland School Assessment, Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders & Programs for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities ages 3 thru 21 in BCPS. It has been her life's work to focus on the many strengths, gifts and capabilities that all people possess. Sara feels that we are ALL students and teachers to each other. Her belief that every person is an artist has inspired her to coordinate the Very Special Arts Festival for BCPS for the last 15 years.

Sara has been a faculty Associate for The Johns Hopkins University since 1994, teaching a number of graduate courses related to Special Education. It is with great joy that she has been teaching the Introduction to Special Education course at MICA since spring 2007.
