After graduating from Maidstone College of Art, UK, he then completed his MFA in sculpture, with a minor in drawing, at Ohio State University, USA. He went on to complete a PhD in theoretical studies (Fine Art) from the University of Leeds, UK. Since graduating from Ohio State he has exhibited work in Australia, Great Britain, and the USA. Occasional writings have been published in Australia, Great Britain and the USA. He currently lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland.

His most recent solo show was held in the Brazos Gallery at Richland College in Dallas, Texas. He has had solo exhibitions at Angel Row Gallery, and Bonnington Gallery in Nottingham, UK and Area 405, in Baltimore. Selected group exhibitions include Recent International Forms in Art The Biennale of Sydney, The Art Gallery of New South Wales, The First Australian Sculpture Triennial, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Victoria, "Something Must Be Done", Drawing Exhibition, Wetterhoff School of Art and Design, Hameenlinna, Finland, The Woodlands Show, Angel Row Gallery, Nottingham, "Exactitude and Lightness", Rosenberg Gallery, Goucher College, Baltimore.

Selected visiting artist and guest lectures have included - Richland College, Dallas, University of Maryland College Park, Espacos do Desenho, Lisbon, Portugal, the Fine Art College, University of Lisbon, Royal College of Art, London, University of Central England, Birmingham, HACS, Wimbledon School of Art, London, Goldsmith's College, University of London, University of Canterbury, New Zealand, The National Gallery - Wellington, and the University of Auckland.

Commissions and consultancies include - Sustrans Cycleway Underpass, Rainworth Bypass, Nottinghamshire County Council, Crown Island Underpass Project, Highways Agency, Parkman Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, and the Castle Ward Art Project, Cycle and walking track, Derby City Council.
