Advanced Standing in Freshmen Classes

In early May, the Admission Committee will nominate students for Advanced Standing in first year drawing and/or painting classes. If you are selected for advanced standing after faculty review of your admission portfolio, you will be notified and your freshman schedules will reflect your placement.

If you have been enrolled in College Board AP courses in liberal arts or studio arts and have taken the AP exams, please send your scores to the admission office for review to receive advanced standing and/or credit.

Registration for Classes

Beginning in mid-March, freshmen who have paid their tuition deposit will be sent a course selection survey. After May 1st and over the summer, your admission counselor will be working with the first year faculty and the academic advising team to customize your schedule based upon your interests, strengths and abilities. During Orientation there will be a meeting with the freshman advising team at which time you will be given your class schedules.

Transfer students who have paid their tuition deposit will be contacted by the Academic Advisor for Transferring Students beginning April 3rd regarding scheduling procedures. Advising and registration will occur online or by telephone May 1st to May 25th. (Priority will be given to students who have deposited earliest.)

Activate Your mica.edu Email Account

After June 1st, instructions for setting up your MICA email will be sent to your personal email address currently on file. Once your account is activated, all official college correspondence will go directly to your mica.edu email address.
